Ford Mears & Partners honours Remembrance Sunday 2025

Across Ford Mears & Partners, our branches marked Remembrance Sunday with thoughtful window displays created as a tribute to those who served, and to the families who carry that legacy. We also held an internal competition to recognise the care and consideration behind each tribute - see the highlights and winning displays.
Holmes and Daughters Feltham Remembrance Sunday Window Display 2025

Each year, Remembrance Sunday gives us a moment to pause, reflect, and pay tribute to those who served, and to the families who carry that legacy. Across Ford Mears & Partners, our branches are rooted in their local communities, and in many areas are still known by the longstanding local names families have trusted for generations.

In the lead-up to Remembrance Sunday (9 November 2025), our teams created memorial window displays as a simple, visible act of respect. We also ran an internal friendly competition to recognise the care, thoughtfulness, and craftsmanship that went into these tributes.

How the displays were judged

Displays were assessed on:

  • Respectful presentation and appropriateness of imagery
  • Connection to the local community and branch identity
  • Creativity and craftsmanship
  • Clarity of message and accessibility for passers-by
  • Overall impact as a tribute

Winners

1st place: Holmes & Daughters, Teddington
A beautifully balanced display that combined traditional symbolism with a strong community feel.

2nd place: Ford Mears & Partners, Frimley
A striking tribute that drew attention while maintaining the quiet dignity Remembrance calls for.

3rd place: Holmes & Daughters, Feltham
A thoughtful and carefully composed display that invited reflection from everyone who passed by.

Recognising every branch

While the top three stood out, we want to thank every team that took part. Each window was created with care, often outside normal duties, and each one played its part in marking Remembrance locally.

Why this matters to the families we serve

At Ford Mears & Partners, our work is ultimately about care, detail, and dignity – whether we are supporting a family in immediate need, helping someone plan ahead, or arranging a funeral that reflects military service or a life shaped by public duty.

These displays are a reflection of the values our teams bring to every funeral we conduct: taking time to listen, being thoughtful about personal touches, and approaching every family with respect.

Matt Mears, Director at Ford Mears & Partners, said:

“Remembrance is deeply important to many of the families we serve. I’m proud of the way our teams across different branch names came together to create tributes that were respectful, locally meaningful, and carefully considered.”

Closing

To everyone who stopped, reflected, or shared a kind word with our teams, thank you. And to every branch that took part, thank you for representing your communities, and our company, with such care.
