Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that's a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition - we're there when it matters. Our doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can. ▼
www.sueryder.orgBowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. We're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Every 15 minutes someone is diagnosed, that's almost 42,000 people every year. Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with more than 16,000 people in the UK dying every year. However it shouldn't be because it is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early. Nearly everyone survives bowel cancer if diagnosed at the earliest stage. However this drops significantly as it develops. Bowel Cancer UK support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer but we can't achieve this alone. Support us. Take action. Because you can help save lives. Today. ▼

I was so glad to see Marjorie in July this year and reminisce on our times working at OUH. She is very fondly remembered by a number of staff still working there, some of whom she skilfully guided through their training year, and others to whom she was a much valued colleague and voice of wisdom, despite leaving us 10 years ago this year. I for one remember her going out of her way giving me a lift to work after another running mishap meant I couldn't walk far, and that was typical of her. I hope the memories of the happy times will help get you through the sad ones. Thinking of you all.
