Our Farnborough office was opened in 1998 and our third office under the Ford Mears & Partner name. We are still in the same property to date, at 242 Farnborough Road in the heart of Farnborough. Like Aldershot over the years John and especially Tony have had a long-standing affiliation to the local community and the area.

As part of the Ford Mears group, Farnborough continues to provide a caring and professional service to the local community around Farnborough, Mytchett and north camp.

The nearest crematoria is Aldershot, Easthampstead park, Woking and Guildford.

Matt Mears

Funeral Director

Matthew initially joined his father’s business in 2013 working part-time as a chauffeur/bearer whilst studying at college and again while studying marketing with psychology at the University of Portsmouth. Matthew continued to work part-time until his graduation in 2019.

Matthew then joined full-time working at Michael Miller & Partners before training to be a funeral director at Gould & Chapman in Grayshott, where he learned the skills that have allowed him to work at Ford Mears & Partners in Farnborough where he remains to this day.

Anne Whitehouse

Funeral Arranger

Anne Whitehouse embarked on her journey in the funeral industry in July 2016, captivated by the prospect of a meaningful career change. Born and raised in Farnborough, Anne’s roots run deep, having attended school in cove. Before joining the funeral industry, Anne worked as an office manager for a local taxi company, helping her improve her organisation skills and dedication to service. With almost a decade of experience as a funeral arranger, Anne brings a wealth of expertise and a compassionate touch to every family she looks after.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Anne finds fulfilment as a wife of 30 years and a mother to four sons. Anne enjoys spending spare time gardening with her Husband and socialising with her friends and family.

DARREN ASHWELL-SYMES

Memorial Manager

Growing up in Haslemere Darren joined the Haslemere retained fire brigade at the earliest opportunity. Darren then joined Ford Mears working as a chauffeur bearer in 2015 following in the footsteps of his wife’s great Grandfather, Lou Bookham, who worked at Mullards.

While working at Ford Mears an opportunity then arose at Hampshire memorials in 2016 and since then Darren has gained experience in learning the art of stone masonry guiding families as they create lasting memories.

Donations

We understand that many family and friends wish to give donations to a charity in memory of the deceased and we see this as an important part of the service that we offer.

Our donations page is simple and easy to use. We’ve partnered with Memory Giving, a recognised donation platform for Funeral Directors to coordinate and collect memoriam donations. We set up the page for you, the page has the following optional features a photo of your loved one, space for a message, details of the service with a map and a space for tributes to be left. The page will typically close 6-8 weeks from the date it was created. 

Every donor will receive an acknowledgment, thanking them for their donation. Donations can be made securely by debit or credit card, with donations going straight to your nominated charity. The option of Gift Aid is available, with Gift Aid recovery, provide on behalf of the charity increases the gift by upwards of 18%.

Ford Mears and partners Farnborough and Hampshire memorials can be found on the main Farnborough road near the clock house roundabout and opposite the old tumble down dick pub now McDonalds.

Parking: Off the clock house roundabout is a pay and display car park or road side 30 minute parking for free on the Farnborough road.
