Our Aldershot office was opened in 1987 as our third office and under the G M Luff name originally. In 1989 it was decided to re-name the office to Ford Mears & Partners due to John and Tony’s strong and long term connections to the Aldershot area and E Finch & Son. We often conduct funerals in Ash, Ash Lane, Badshot Lea and even further afield.
The nearest crematoria to Aldershot, Easthampstead Park, Basingstoke and Woking are Fleet, Church Crookham and Crondall.
Funeral Director
Ian decided that after being made redundant from Boot’s chemist, it was an opportunity to try something he has always wanted to do.
Ian first joined the co-op working for 2 years starting as a chauffeur / bearer and working his way up to a funeral director.
Ian then joined E. Finch and sons in Aldershot working with them for 20 years. After 20 years Ian decided it was time for a fresh start so Ian joined Ford Mears & Partners in December 2023 working as a full time funeral director in Aldershot.
Outside of work Ian is F1 mad and can often be found sitting by a lake fishing.
Funeral Director
After leaving school, Claire started working in retail before moving into health care, dental, hospitals and caring in private homes. Claire then took time out to raise her three children and whilst being a full time mum, decided to study for diplomas in Anatomy/Pathology, Bowen therapy and theatrical make-up.
Claire also worked during school hours in the local community to support the elderly and adults with learning disabilities. After raising her children Claire wanted to get back into full time work and started working at E Finch & Sons. Claire applied herself within the job, learning and training in all aspects of funeral care. After 8 years at E Finch & Sons, in various roles from a Funeral Arranger to a Business Leader role. Claire made her move to Ford Mears & Partners in October 2024 as a Funeral Director.
