What To Write On Funeral Flowers

A funeral guide for comfort during unsettling times

What To Write On Funeral Flowers

When taking or ordering flowers for a funeral you have the option of leaving a personal message on the flower card. Knowing what to write as your final goodbye can be extremely difficult when trying to express how you feel.

When writing the card keep it short and simple. It can be a great way to express how you feel. The message may be short, but they can say a lot in a small space. A good example of a simple but effective flower card can be “Rest in peace.” This may sound cliché when you boil down the meaning it is a very peaceful farewell to a loved one. One of my personal favourites is “In celebration of life.” When looking at the meaning of this phrase it looks at the positive aspects. A celebration of life instead of the traditional sadness that follows funerals.

If you have more space on the card, writing a couple of lines of what the person meant to you, or even a quote that means a lot to you is a warm-hearted or sympathetic way to write the card. Some people like to use their flower card to send condolences to the family. It will vary person to person and is based on how you feel the best way to write the card. A meaningful quote or even song lyrics that mean something to you and the relationship you had with the deceased is a meaningful way to say your farewells.

There is no clear-cut way to write a glower card message. It will be very different with each individual. Personally, I find its best to try and keep the message short and simple, which I know is hard based on all the varying emotions you will feel. However, in my professional experience I have found most people find it impossible to sum up exactly how they feel when speaking, which only makes it harder when trying to put it into words.
